Welcome to the Green Tree Hunt Club
Green Tree Hunt Club

The Greentree Hunt Club developed out of a friendship which began over thirty years ago between a small group of individuals whom each had a common interest and appreciation for Hunting and the love of the outdoors.

All too often in life some things come and go as time has a way of changing us and our interests become focused elsewhere. Yet many of us have not lost that excitement in seeing the first Whitetail rubs of the season and the joy of making preparations in hope of seeing the fellow that made them.

As the season grows near there is change in the air that only a true hunter can sense. It’s the feeling they have when the leaves begin to display its colors and the temperature starts to drop. Now comes the thrill that overcomes us on a cool Autumn morning when those leaves begin to fall and the days grow shorter for we know from experience that the time for which we have waited is drawing near. That time when deer activity increases and the few times that the big boys begin to show themselves. This is a time that we all know so well and look forward to each year. This is the time we refer to as the rut.

Just as we appreciate good music, the sound of a fine tuned pack of hounds hot on the chase is a sweet song to a hunter’s ears. And I dare to say that anyone who has had the opportunity to witness the movements of a bear in its natural surroundings can attest to how wonderful nature can be to see such a magnificent animal in the wild.

The Greentree Hunt Club has strived to not only to continue the sport of Hunting but to do so in a manner to maintain the respect of what those associated with Hunting and the outdoors should represent.

One should care for preserving wildlife just as much as wanting to harvest such a magnificent resource. The true nature of the sport and the exposure to the outdoors has been instilled in the future generation of Hunters and has added to the appreciation of our accomplishments when we experience the fun and excitement through the eyes of the youth whom many us have exposed to the sport. We can only hope that through them they will continue what has been an American Heritage

Over the years nature has provided so many memorable moments experienced while being in the outdoors. Although we have captured some of those memories on film, I can not count the number of times that I wished that I had a camera for the encounters of which we have not.

Yet one of our greatest accomplishments of our club has been keeping safety in mind along with the friendship and cooperation amongst club members and the community.

Not to mention the fact that we have learned how to have just plain fun.
